The speed of light is constant. It is not relative to other speeds. This is because when travelling at the speed of light, time and mass compensate. So that it is not relative speed that changes, but time and space that change.
So if I was travelling at a million kms an hour and light at 1 billion kms an hour, the relative speed of light remains 1 billion. What changes is space and time.
- It takes 8 mins for light from the sun to reach earth
- The distance of the earth to the sun is 150 million km
- Speed of light = 1 billion kms/hour
- Einstein said it is more important to thank than it is to think. So give your constantly wanting head a break, and let your heart do the thanking.
